A community built on the belief that no young person should have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Why We Started

For years, our founder, Sharron Glover, has cared for people both professionally and personally. As a nurse, caregiver, and advocate, she has seen firsthand how the right support system can change the course of a person's life.

Her own experiences caring for family members, stepping in for children in need, and helping individuals find stable housing revealed something simple but powerful: success isn't determined by circumstance alone. It often depends on whether someone has a village standing beside them.

That belief became the foundation for It Takes a Village.

Instead of simply providing housing, we're building a community where young people are surrounded by stability, mentorship, encouragement, and opportunity as they prepare for adulthood.

At It Takes a Village, we believe stable housing is only the beginning. Young people also need caring adults, meaningful relationships, educational support, life skills, and opportunities to discover what’s possible for their future.

Our goal is to help every resident build confidence, independence, and a foundation that lasts long after they leave our program.

Where We Are Today

It Takes a Village is currently completing the licensing and development process to prepare for serving youth in our community. During this phase, we're building partnerships, recruiting supporters, and creating the strong foundation needed for long-term success.
